
Cheese Rolls

375g tin evaporated milk
200ml cream
½ small onion, grated
¼ tsp ground pepper
500g grated edam cheese
1 x 32g packet of onion soup mix
100g butter
1 Tbsp chopped chives
1 loaf of Ploughmans Rustic White bread
Chopped chives or parsley to serve
Method
- Slowly simmer the evaporated milk, cream, onion, and soup packet in a medium pot.
- Add the cheese and stir until it has melted over a low heat. Remove and cool.
- Preheat the oven to 170C—line two baking trays with paper.
- Butter one side of the bread then spread with a tablespoon of the cheese mixture. Roll tightly. Place the bread on the tray, cut side down. Brush the outside with any remaining butter.
- Bake for 15 minutes until golden and oozing.
